Mr Goffey unfortunately does not exist well, only in my imagination!  Goffey was the name of my father’s solicitor practice.  This was taken over by a much larger concern once he had retired.  His was a business built on personal reputation and above all else – service to his clients (and this has become my major business ethos).  In these days of business stress Goffey believes in regular contact with his clients, agreed fixed fees and the ability for clients to contact Goffey without the ‘clock-ticking’.  Goffey understands when a business needs advice – it needs advice.  This is perhaps why so many small businesses fail in the early days - the owner managers are too afraid of a large accountancy bill to want to contact their advisor.
